As a native and an investor in Bakersfield the market has definitely flatlined.  I am very concerned about all the layoffs currently happening.  I would be very careful about jumping in without knowing the market and specific areas that you want to invest (Bakersfield is a market that has a few amazing pockets but the RE in those pockets have dried up). Good luck on your search.

Hi Ken,

I'm new to RE Investing I have acquired 4 properties in the last 6 months. I currently rent as it is more beneficial for me to do so as I continue acquiring properties. I toyed with the idea of buyer a SFH first and it didn't make sense. I hope this helps.
