St Paul city council to vote on package of changes to rent control next week.

https://minnesotareformer.com/...

"Under a package of amendments the council will vote on Sept. 14, new construction will be exempted for 20 years; rents may rise more in years with high inflation; and landlords may raise rents as much as they please after a tenant moves out in what’s called “vacancy decontrol.”"

Highly recommend DS Bahr.  Handles roof, siding, decking.  https://dsbahr.com/

We also had a couple of roofers talk about but avoid giving retail bids when they thought we may file a claim for a roof replacement.  They wanted to see what the insurance would say it seemed.

We ended up going calling other roofers and asked specifically for a retail bid without mentioning insurance to get such (we ended up going retail instead of insurance for various reasons).

Is avoiding estimates like this typical when insurance for roofing may be involved? (This is in Minnesota)

Minneapolis has convened a 25 member working group to discuss rent control with the goal to make a proposal for voting next year.  https://lims.minneapolismn.gov...

Look like the first meeting will be September 13.
