The #1 rule is: do what works for you. If you can find profit in a lowly neighborhood, go for it. I guess this is sort of like the "it depends" mentality a few posts up.

Hmmmm....may offer to trade you a house for that....

hmmm..... if I can reinvest the house, buy the same rookie card and still earn a profit, then perhaps ;)

Good one Erik.
13a. Also learn from your successes. This is necessary to keep both sides in perspective. It is too often that people forget they're making great advances, but focus on the mistakes.

I can't even run that long.

Maybe not the smartest investment right now but I don't care. To each their own right.

Alright sounds good :)

Here, I'll start:

1. Always do your due diligence.
2. It's better to overestimate than underestimate costs.

As long as we challenge ourselves every day, formally or informally, we're getting an education.

Amen to that.

Right now I'm in Japan. Food is getting cheaper and cheaper. Little convenient stores everywhere. I love it. Anyhow, I'm looking for anything to invest in, but it's very difficult because of the language barrier.

The job I'm at provides money for transportation. It takes 1610 Yen on bus (roughly $16) to get from my home to my job and back, but every day I take my bike (which many business people use) on a stroll to the bus station about 2 miles away. That saves me 570 yen a day. This adds up 5x a week. The way I see it is I save 136800 Yen a year. Pretty good I think.

I get exercise every morning and a discount in transportation. No need for gas here! It's beautiful.
