I'd be happy to help out.... No charge of course. I do skip tracing here at the office. I can pretty much find anyone anywhere. Just PM me with the details you have. I can have the answers pretty quick for you, (as long as there name isn't Osama Bin Laden).
As for a tool you can use: a lot of times its a subscription service to the software that's used, kind of like MLS, and you have to have some type of legal, law enforcement, or fraud detection credentials to be able to get them. I do have to say though, one of my most useful tools is the whitepages. Just add a .com at the end of it. You can do reverse address searches, reverse phone searches etc. Comes in handy. The one I use is for law enforcement. Don't need too many details to find a whole lot out.

I heard the same thing John. Keep it simple, 2 or 3 words, not your name, initials if anything. A lot of people use the "ABC" thing so their name gets listed first in the phone book, or other directories. Something to keep in mind.
