@Troy Gandee, I have been following these dates. unfortunately I work this Friday (nightshift), but will continue to follow for the dates I can attend. Thanks so much, I am eager to attend your events.

@Jason Burrundefined I think this will be my plan, I do want to jump right in so that my fear will subside. I want to get started ASAP. Thanks

Hello Everyone,

I started here on Bigger Pockets 4 years ago and basically my faith in myself failed to give me the confidence to succeed as a potential investor. I have however, followed the site and told people about it for the last few years only to decide, I need to do this. I am going to start by reading everything I can on the forums and enjoy the Pro benefits and watch plenty of webinars and podcasts. If anyone wants to reach out in SC, do so please. The closest REI meets are in Charleston so I plan on attending those that I can since I work full-time as a nurse. I am excited to build my business. My husband is a contractor, mostly in trim and cabinetry and we have a large potential team of electricians, floor specialists, renovators and so on through lifetime friendships if needed. We plan on buying for rental purposes and possibly a flip or BRRR. I would like to buy one house a year to rent out and move up the REI ladder with more properties. I hope everyone is having a great Sunday and can't wait to get "restarted" in my dream of being a Real Estate Investor.

Susan

I am in the Conway, Myrtle Beach area, would love to come but work every other weekend and I work that weekend, keep us posted on the next one and I hope to make the next available one.

thanks you guys, I am looking at properties that need minor needs, paint, carpet and such, one house has hardwood floors under the carpet, which I would be interested in taking up the carpet and having a look. We refinished ours ourselves after 60 years old..Love em, but with that said at this point a kitchen update might be a plan but the way they both sit now, I would be able to rent them out immediately. One of the properties has been in the family from the get go. They are older homes, in a Historic area of Conway, so maybe they have a little bit of character than the cookie cutter houses these days. Keep in mind all utilities are city and city water, with heat pumps, not registers or window units, a good choice so far, but we'll see.

Yes Karen, I do to, to the extent I can control things. Just saying, not everyone that gets tagged with the scarlet letter is really an evil perv. Some law and order show had some guy giving testimony as an expert, then it was pointed out he had been convited of sex crimes, turned out he was 19 and his girlfriend was 17, thay later married. While that was TV, it is also the reality of a system. I'd want to knwo what the circumstances were before I began the defimation thing and made inappropriate claims.

I agree with Bill. Have you found out what exactly the crime was? I work in corrections and by all means, guilty is guilty, but I have seen instances where women put a tag on the ex to get him back, including rape. God Knows if someone raped someone they should be in jail, but there are instances where this is not the case and could be like Bill said 17year old and a 19 year old, consensual sex and mommy and daddy are charging the fact. JMHO I would find out what the charge is and explain it to the prospective renter if it comes up. If you do a search just about anywhere, you will find that there are plenty others living around you and the renter probably already lives close to one as well.

Whoot, getting the ball rolling. I am looking at a house today, all brick in my price range and one on Monday. I just want to get it going. I have been reading and learning about the process here and hope that I can put it to some use. These houses or house rather, will be a buy and hold property for rental purposes.
I will keep you updated on the progress. Wish me luck!
