@Joshua Syska Best of luck as you get started.  I have also just recently begun searching for my first multi-family.  I'd be interested in hearing more about your experiences and approach and happy to share mine.  Shoot me a message if you want to connect.

Hi everyone,

Thanks to those of you who have shared interest above or via a message.  If you’re thinking about coming please share.  I encourage people to reach out to those that may not see this but you think would like to join us as well.  See you on Thursday.

Kyle

Hi everyone,

I apologize for the delays in setting up the first meeting.  Time has flown by!  Anyway, I wanted to propose that we meet next Thursday, February 8th at 7pm at Gather/District Hall in the Seaport.  They have common area space, as well as access to drinks and apps from Gather if people want.

The meeting can be informal with the purpose of networking and discussing what we want out of future meetings.

If you plan to attend, please respond so we can get a count.   If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to message me or share within the forum.

Thanks,

Kyle

Thanks Alfred . Is there a cost effective way to check asbestos before making an offer?

Hi all,

Thanks everyone for your interest.  I originally wanted to get together before the holidays. After seeing the number of people who are interested and cannot attend this week, and asking a few of those who said they could attend this week, I think it's best we postpone until after the New Year.  Let's plan on Thursday, Jan 4 and I will find some space for us to meet.

Thanks, and happy holidays.

Hi,

I’m looking at a 4-unit multifamily in New England and the property has asphalt shingles siding.  It has 2 layers of asphalt shingles, a layer of insulation and then metal sheets.  I’ve never seen this type of siding before, it’s not common in my area.  Does anyone know about this siding and mind sharing any pros/cons?  How long does it last, is it costly to replace, does it work well in cold/snowy New England climate?  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Kyle

Hi guys,

Appreciate all of the positive feedback.  I know the holidays are near and many people can’t join until the New Year, but I still think it makes sense for those that are able to informally get together.  My proposal would be that we get together next Thursday, December 21st at 6:30pm.  We can introduce ourselves, talk about what we want to get out of these meet ups/ experiences with other meetups that you may be part of, and have a drink.  I’ll look for a bar/restaurant that is convenient to public transportation, and if anyone has any recommendations please feel free to throw them out.

Thanks,

Kyle

Great @Richard Beatty.  My plan is to get together before the holidays.  Will wait a few more days to hear from others and then set up a time and place.
