I created an account to request a loan from lendingclub and interest rates on the loan offers were pretty high. The highest was $28k for 25%. Disappointing. My credit score is well above 700 (can't disclose everything about myself--Haha), too. Bummer.

Shawn Abrams There are several discussions regarding Pittsburgh.

Just learned of this program (I must live in a cave). Does anyone have any unique uses/strategies for it yet?

Post: Who Wants To Be A Mentor?

In another recent post regarding a mentorship program where the program requires $5k up front from the student (and after splitting 5 deals with the mentor, the student gets the initial $5k returned), the major theme of the responses was “RUN! GURU!”
http://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/12/topics/82892-evaluate-this-mentorship-deal

I find it interesting that in this thread the regular BP posters on here who may offer a mentorship are suggesting that the students/mentees be motivated and show it by having ‘some skin in the game.’ I guess the big time gurus also determine a student’s motivation by the money they can offer up…

Michael Quarles Im telling you...lets team up on "subject 2" and win this competition.... :-)

Here is the link to the house for sale, which resulted from his type of mentorship program.

Is this the program being discussed: http://www.pittdeals.com/custom/index.cfm?id=186602?

I know a guy going through it right now. He is on his second flip right now. it seems to be working very well for him and he is quite pleased with the business arrangement. I have never personally worked with them in this program but he gives it high marks. His first flip is on the market right now . I'll try to find the link and post here.

Hello there. I have to post this here since I am not able to send it to all of the members from Pittsburgh individually without sending a collegaue request (limited to how many I can send).

7pm March 15, 2013
Tambellini's Restaurant
http://www.eatzucchini.com/
139 7th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222
(412) 391-1091

We have 20 seats reserved because I don’t know how much interest there will be… It is a nice restaurant but NOT a suit and tie establishment so come for a relaxed casual evening.

Contact me (RSVP) through BP so I can have an idea on how many are coming.

I am strictly inviting ONLY BP members (no other local investors) for the gathering, strictly as a networking event. This will be an easy-going night (no sales pitches, please) to make some new contacts, some new friends, and have a drink or two. Don’t be shy! But, make sure to bring business cards so we can all swap them!

The reservation will be for the “Investors Group”.

If you have any questions let me know.

I hope to see you there:

Ian Meyers

Jennifer Lee

Daniel Croce

Please help me spread the word!
