Quote from @Adam Garrett:

Hi everyone. I am new here to the BP forum and new to RE investing. This is actually my first ever post/reply on the forum! I am located here in Jacksonville also and am looking to meet other investors to learn more and meetups sound like a great way to do that.

@Greg Hansen I actually saw this July meetup scheduled at Wicked Barley last week and marked it on my calendar and am hoping to attend as well. Looking forward to getting to know other investors here in Jax!

 Hey Adam I searched events and didn’t see this meetup. Can you post a link to the event by chance?

Quote from @Andres Rodriguez:

Sorry for the late reply, but I believe you joined Luz's FB so that's great!
The next meetup will be held on February 14th. Details to follow.

I missed February is there a spot to get more frequent updates of the next one?

Evan,

It looks like you asked the right question as I would also be interested in a meetup. I haven't bought any investments yet. I am interested in learning more and meeting people in this market. I love living here and hope to get more involved in the community and even help the community through REI.

Good Friday afternoon everyone! I have been on this website for a long time and it’s embarrassing to say that I have had life/ analysis paralysis for many years now. However, my financial situation is looking upwards from how it was in the past and I feel excited and ready to get serious about starting to invest. My initial thought is to house hack here in Jacksonville,FL but also open to other ways to invest and I would like to create financial and time freedom. I do love real estate as well and have loved it for a very long time. Thank you all for your time and look forward to meeting new people.

@Nathan G.

Thank you so much for the input. That’s the direction I was thinking as well. Sometimes my brain gets all jumbled when I listen to the podcast and hear how Brandon says to ask “How can I make it happen” and hear some of the stories about partnering up and things of that nature. However, I believe I am at square one and need to put the time in that space first. Thank you again I appreciate your feedback. 😀

Hello to whomever scans this post. I’m trying to figure out a way to word this so I don’t sound like an idiot, but here goes.

My husband and I are interested in getting started as investors. Most likely houses hacking, maybe a mutlifamily or something. I have fear and confusion on how to start. The reason is that financially I would run away from us. I’m at going to put it all out there as embarrassing as it is. We have a bankruptcy 4 years discharged, we are building our credit (him at a 650 and me at a 620) but only as of recently. We have a couple personal loans, 2 car loans, and massive student debt. My question is how is it possible for us to get started? I have tried to think and I this may sound whiny and lack confidence but I truly don’t see how to make a partner trust you not only with no money but massive debt. So the only thing I can think os bust my *** to pay off some of this debt to at least be able to afford payment of a property for vacancy. Anyways long winded and I hope this made sense. Basically just wanting to know if for you investors out there what would your thoughts and what would be your first step with this situation?

@Wayne Brooks

Thank you for your response. So to be certain I am understanding correctly. If my license were active I would be violating licensing law. Since mine is inactive I wouldn’t be? Thanks again for your time.

Hello all investors in Florida. I am curious if wholesaling and me having my RE license (on hold) would be considered a conflict of interest or illegal? I have my license and found out the agent side wasn’t for me at the moment but really still want to invest and be in real estate. I thought wholesaling would be a good option for having little money.

Thank you all for your time and response.
