@Katherine Tsay,

Welcome to BP : ) And thanks for the shout outs @Arlen Chou and @Metra Ulloa . Glad you are both stoked about this weekend.

Katherine,
I think Arlen and Metra already hit on this weekend. Have a lot of folks gathering in Oakland once a year, including a bunch of folks from the BP podcast interviews. But there are all sorts of great meetups around the SF Bay Area that I highly recommend going to. Face to face networking is what its all about.

@Ryder Meehan and @Chris V have a meetup in SF focused on out-of-state investing, and folks there who invest out of state. He'll be out this weekend also.

Whenever you have the time, get out and meet some folks! There are a lot of really great investors and meetups out here in the Bay..

 Olga,
Thanks for the shout out, and welcome back out for the third time! :) The OG!!
Be sure to connect with Brian Burke, Minh Le, Anthony Addessi, that all invest in multifamily. Minh and Anthony are local. Brian is investing out of state.

Are you looking locally or elsewhere?
We'll have a lot of investors out from the Greater SF Bay, from Santa Rosa out to Walnut Creek and Stockton, down to Santa Cruz, and of course San Jose, Palo Alto, San Francisco, and my favorite ever... Oakland!!!

Saturday is a bit more focused on out of state investing, and Sunday will have more local-focused breakout sessions.
So pick your favorites, and we'll be a little more on time with the agenda this year ;)

Did you download the networking app yet?

Looking forward to it this weekend!!
Feel free to tag a friend if you know anyone who wants to come..

@Valentine Sviatocha,

Bumping this up..

Last I checked, about $500/sq ft from the bottom up, for new construction cost in San Francisco - not including the lot. Could vary a lot depending on lot, slope, stories, etc..

****** DOWNLOAD THE  SUMMIT APP! ******   And get better connected!

Our app will introduce you to other attendees of the event, allow you to exchange info digitally, present the agenda, logistics, announcements, and vote on our polls - before, during, and after the event!

Once you download the app, register with the SAME EMAIL ADDRESS you used to register for the event (you should see an email from Eventzilla to the email you bought your ticket with.) Then connect your social media account to import everything, or copy and paste your bio from BiggerPockets or type it in. And you're all set!

I've already heard great feedback about the app, and want everyone to get the most out of their networking. So be sure to download it ASAP, and we'll remind you again at the event if you're lagging! Really excited to be offering this, and let me know what you think! :)

@Bac Nguyen,

You should receive an email tomorrow with the Friday evening drinks/dinner/networking on Friday. It's open to every attendee. You don't need to drink. Just come by and grab some food and/or chat. Welcome up from San Diego!

@Jenelle H.,

@Brian Burke is the man!! This is his 3rd Summit coming out, and has a ton to offer - along with a lot of other great folks. We'll have lots of OOS talk (including Kathy Fettke and Brie Schmidt, multi-family (your neighbor is a great place to start! ;)  @Chris Mason will be talking about financing. Lots of folks in Bay area talking about BRRR. Bring your questions and your business cards :)

@Joseph Fang,

Yes, Friday night at 5:30PM (will get location in email - in downtown Oakland). Sat and Sunday 5PM at the venue also. Come out to whatever you can make!

@Ashley Watkins

Welcome to the Bay Area BP folks! I have some property in Oakland, and like it out there.

@David Lecko has an app to make all the logistics of driving for dollars and sending out mailings very easy. Check out his profile for the details. Free download.

And I definitely recommend getting out and meeting people in person. Jeff Pollack above and a bunch of others from BP are coming out to share this weekend if you can make it. Check out my profile. Sunday is focused more on the SF Bay Area and how people are doing deals here.

I also own some property in Richmond if you are interested in learning more.

single family homes and condos are generally exempt from rent control, per Costa-Hawkins CA state law.

@Whitney McClary,

If I remember correctly, I think @Tom Randazzo bought some stuff in Rochester, unless I'm thinking of the wrong person at the Santa Cruz meetup with @Jenifer Levini

A bunch of use are meeting up in Oakland this weekend if you can make it.

There are also other events in the > Community > Networking Events section of BP. I definitely am a big fan of meeting people in person if you can..

@Jenelle H.,

So glad you can make it out! Such a great group of folks :)  What are you most interested? Introduce yourself.

@Account Closed,

The one day tickets are good for either day, so you can decide whenever. We're also having a cash bar happy hour at 5PM each day, and getting together on Friday evening in Oakland also, depending on how much you want to drink and network ;)

@Michael Swanson Jr.

Chris Mason said it all!  Big group this weekend if you can make it Michael.
I'm a big believer in networking..

Juan Diaz is coming out, and has flipped hundreds of homes in Oakland. I'm sure he'd be happy to get another source of deals..

 Thanks for the shout out Jason.

Anton,
There are a lot of great meetups in the SF Bay Area under the > Community > Networking Events section of BP, including the big Summit coming up this weekend. Will be a fun chance to connect with a lot of folks from BP, if you can make it. But either way, I think getting out and meeting investors face to face is one of the most powerful things you can do in real estate. It's what got me to quit my day job.

The podcasts and forums are awesome too. Hope to meet you in person before I head out to India and SE Asia! :)
