My gf and I are looking to make our 1st RE purchase in a cash-flowing short term rental in the USVI. We could use some advice on the pros & cons of condos and in particular str's in condos.

@Marcello Di Gerlando

Awesome feedback. This is something I hadn't considered. My gf and I are looking to get into our 1st short term rental property in the US Virgin Islands in the next few months. A majority of the bookings here are VRBO but these kinds of statements are interesting because they seem to have a long term effect or more to them than meets the eye.

@Collin Hays

Appreciate the feedback! Super interesting thought, would you say it's an opportunity from a PR perspective or one related to legal?

@Mark Futalan

Appreciate the feedback! I'm sure it might make potential party planners think twice and hopefully does have a positive impact.

@Michael Baum

Appreciate the feedback! Would you be concerned in future? I would be interested to know if this changes the current policy on how they handle reimbursements or not? Will this add potential additional legal costs to Air Bnb's bottom line? Just a thought.

@Jaeseok An appreciate the feedback! I don't think people openly discuss what they are doing at people's properties as a matter of privacy. However, I would always be concerned about it happening because it seems to be an ongoing trend.

@Jon Crosby thanks for your input, much appreciated. I'm sure it will serve as further peace of mind for those concerned with this issue.

Airbnb has just passed a global party ban across all locations and threatened legal action to anyone who disobeys.

Given that a large percentage of travelers are young and having a good time goes hand in hand...

How do you think this will effect the already suffering short term rental market?
