Airbnb Global Party Ban - How Will It Affect The Market?

Airbnb has just passed a global party ban across all locations and threatened legal action to anyone who disobeys.

Given that a large percentage of travelers are young and having a good time goes hand in hand...

How do you think this will effect the already suffering short term rental market?

My 2 cents is, I don't think it matters too much to be honest, they say 73% of all listings already ban parties as general house rules.   The rule is really around having guests not on the reservation I would hope and not saying those staying cannot 'party' or enjoy themselves during their stay. Obviously even listed guests can cause a ruckus and perhaps this policy will help those 73% with general no-party rules have some better compliance and/or restitution for any fines from disruptive guests.  Lots of Airbnb's are families, business travelers, etc. so I don't think this will 'make or break' occupancy numbers in any major fashion.
