Thanks @Karin Crompton. I absolutely agree that a meeting should be arranged for what works best for most in CT. Maybe we can have a rotating monthly meet-up in different areas of the state to attract people from all over the Connecticut area?

If there's enough interest let's meet-up where we can get a solid commitment from BP members, whether it be Foxwoods or elsewhere in the state. I am interested, and would be happy to help/coordinate the meet-up.

@Wade Light thanks so much for posting about a Connecticut meet-up. I would be very interested in a CT meet-up, but unfortunately it will be tough for me to make it to Foxwoods. Would you be open to meeting closer to New Haven County? I would be happy to coordinate a regular place/time together with you, and arranging for more BP members to join.

Also, if any other CT BP members are interested in a meet-up, please provide thoughts/feedback/interest. Thanks.

Thought this might be helpful to share:

A new feature rolled out on Google Maps that allows you to see street views from different time periods. For example you can see the same street view in 2012 and compare it to the older 2007 street view. You can access the new feature in the "new" Google Maps with the clock symbol on the bar in the top left corner.

This could come in handy when evaluating properties and tracking progress or declines in the area.

Is propertyshark.com a good way to find owner contact information for neglected homes? If not, what is the best way (outside of sending yellow letters to the home itself)?

Thanks.

Hi @Christopher Gilly welcome to BP! Is there a specific city in Hartford County that you're looking into?

Hi @Jim Lally ,

You might want to try Mickey Lowitt (contact info below). He only does RE transactional law. Also, he is not looking to bill you for every question you ask him.

In fairness I have not used him before, but that is only because I have not closed on any CT properties. I have had many conversations with him and when I do close on a CT property, he is definitely my go to guy. (Also, another BP member that I referred to him was very happy). Feel free to PM me for more info.

Welcome @Grady Dunning to BP! Sounds like you have some great experience under your belt.

Hope you can come make it to the BP Meet Up in NYC (http://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/521/topics/116176-nyc-meetup).
