@Andy Collins great points. My understanding was that an investor might be putting themselves at a financial risk by not incorporating; for example if there was a lawsuit of some sort. Is that the case?

Google voice is a free service that offers call forwarding and voicemail transcription to text/email. I am not sure if you can get an 800 number listed from them though.

Thanks Chris.

Thanks Joe - I completely agree. Is there a geographic area that you specialize in?

Hi BP, I'm Jonathan.

I've been on the forums sidelines for a few weeks, and I'm excited I've finally made it on the field.

I am a CPA by trait, and an entrepreneur by nature. I'm primarily looking for residential multi-family real estate investments within 100 miles of NYC to buy-and-hold, but I am open to all good deals that make money.

I'm looking forward to learning from so many of you here, and getting involved. Thanks Josh and Brandon, and everyone else for making this a great community to be part of.

INTRO: Before asking my question I wanted to introduce myself to BP: I reside just outside of NYC and have been looking for residential real estate investments for the last six months in NY, NJ and central CT. Fortunately and unfortunately, I am still (patiently) looking. I am looking forward to interacting with the BP community, and being able to give back.

QUESTION: Should I pursue a Real Estate Salesperson License, if I am not looking to be an RE agent? Are there disadvantages of having a RE Salesperson License that I should be aware of?

BACKGROUND: About 7 years ago I completed and passed the 45 hour NY Real Estate Salesperson Course, but I [foolishly] did not apply for my state license. If I wanted to obtain my license today I would need to sit for an additional 30 hour course and pass the state exam. My goals are not to be a real estate agent, but after I heard Shaun Reilly's strategy (on BP Podcast 43), I am now very interested in obtaining my license to get MLS access to by throwing a lot of low offers against the wall and seeing what sticks.
