Stephen E. It depends on what is directly underneath the laminate floor, is it pores material that will absorb it such as wood or is it a vinyl or concrete underpayment. I had this experience at a property once in which we had a bad leak that got under the laminate floor installed on top of concrete slab(floating floor), and yes there was excessive mold build up underneath. Under the right conditions mold begins to grow very quickly so time is definitely of the essence. Good luck!

Hey Ian Grant welcome to BP, I have owned both vacation and long term rentals in the Pocono's for many years now. There have been some challenges holding on to long term tenants for vast number of reasons. The vacation rental I have structured through Airbnb/ VRBO have been very successful and that is mostly due to the location of the property. If you would like specifics feel free to PM me. Angie Williams there is definitely a market in the Poconos for short term/vacation rentals. I have had great success with one property listing it through AIRBNB and VRBO, that home is located in an amenity filled gated community which is the main reason why it has worked out so well. As far as long term, the closer you are to the NJ border the more demand there is, East Stroudsburg, Bushkill etc. I have had decent long term renters but I have also gone through more evictions then I'd like to discuss(which is considerably easier then NY). That being said it's all about the screening process and if you decide to do so, hiring a good property management

I have owned in the Pocono's since 2004, started with vacation rentals and now long term rentals. There is definitely a large inventory of foreclosed homes still available. I attempted to move on these properties in early 2016, my biggest challenge was finding qualified, competent and reliable contractors. As mentioned earlier John Moore is the man to talk to.

Hey Anthony LaBarbera , I have been running one of my SFR through AirBNB and VRBO for a little over two years now. This past year has been great and the property will show a positive cash flow but there are multiple tangibles that come into play to make this strategy work. PM if you would like to find out more.
