Hey Jon, sounds like you have some experience with purchasing property at auctions. Can  you do a title search on a property prior to bidding? Also have you ever had an issue with an occupied property and if so how did you handle it?

Yeah John I have noticed over the years the diverse real estate market that the Pocono region offers, homes built in the 1800's to tons of prefabricated homes being erected in communities. I do have a "good" agent and will continue to do my research. Thanks again for the insight.

Thanks John for the info. I currently own 2 places in the Poconos, one I use as a seasonal rental. Still doing my research on where in the Poconos to invest... Any advice on past, present real estate deals?

Hello BP GREAT to be here! My name is John Geldert and for the first time in a month I have finally found some Real REI education on the internet without being asked for my credit card info... THANK YOU!!! So I currently live in Bellerose Queens, purchased my first house in the Poconos in 2004 while living in my parents basement in Queens, since then purchased 3 more homes including my primary, a rental in Pa and a 2 family in Queens. So by the time I was 30 I owned 4 homes and was in way over my head!! After a wife, child and 6 years to reflect I sold the 2 family and crawled out of debt. Currently I'm a union carpenter and licensed home inspector, looking to get back into the real estate investing world after learning many valuable lessons. Trying to take my time this go around, I'm looking for mentors, advice, incouragement, leeds etc. I'm very excited to be getting back into REI and any help from BP would be STELLA!
