Dishwasher leak, chances of mold.
We had a leak from a recently installed dishwasher due to a failed hose connecting it to the water supply. That is my handyman's diagnosis and he has installed a new hose, fixing the leak. The problem is that the leak was apparently there for some time and water has gone under the laminate floor in the kitchen. The amount of water involved is unclear from the description given to me by the handyman and the tenant. For now we have opted to leave things to dry out and are going back on Friday morning to inspect. My question is, what are the chances of mold developing either on the underside of the laminate, on the subfloor or both? The extent of the water leak and how long it was going on for is unclear. All advice appreciated especially from people with experience with similar problems. What possessed the previous owners to put laminate in a kitchen is unclear.
