@J Scott comes off as an extrovert by the way he writes his posts. He just has a great way of writing stories, his experiences, and has a great way of explaining his point.

I would presume persistence has helped with overcoming some of the introvert  traits.

@Carla Patterson

@Carla Patterson I would suggest just asking & talking about the other person your networking with to help warm you up to them. That way your able to get an insight on their backgrounds and interests & see where you may align in helping them for a mutual benefit. I guess it just piggybacks off J's point, but it has helped me in meeting people I thought were intimidating.

Welcome Brock!

@Brie Schmidt Hosts a Chicago Meetup that can be found here:

https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/521/topics/14...

It every 3rd Tuesday of each month. Might be a good start to network and talk to like-minded investors in Chicago.

I have seen full warehouses dedicated to selling appliances that have scratches or dents at a good discount (even Viking stoves). Everyone I know that have purchased these have been really happy with the purchase.

Great topic @Jay Hinrichs

As posted earlier, I think we are all have a little salesmanship in us. Whether it is being single and trying to find a date, applying for a job and explaining how our skills can benefit, or a business owner and how our product or service will benefit.

Going through multiple personalities helps in working with people. A lot of it comes down to your principles, having a good character, and not taking advantage of the other person. Rather, working with them to get to a win-win situation.

These books have helped me better understand & work with people:
Dale Carnegie - How to Win Friends & Influence People
Stephen R. Covey - 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Florence Littauer - Personality Plus: How to Understand Others by Understanding Yourself

Congrats on jumping in and giving it a shot!
Its nice to see someone put their investor cap on and actually learn from a few mistakes. Too many people are either too ignorant to learn from them, or just never have a mindset to think like an investor.

Having the real estate agent background & network should only help in finding your next!

Best wishes to you!

Looks really nice! They centered the tiles well. It looks so off when things are not symmetrical, especially the shower head.
Did you guys go with vertical tile layout because the bathroom felt short?
Something to do with horizontal making it feel a certain way?
Or no main reason?

The colors work well together!

Wow! This is extremely inspiring! Good for you!
Your strategies and tips of what worked for you are priceless. I cant wait to open up some time to read each post!

Thanks for your experienced contribution!

I have asked around, and noticed many people like the light counter tops & back-splash's (greys) like this one

But I agree with looking around your area and on Houzz or something similar for ideas.

Hope that helps!

Best wishes!

Awesome idea! The video is great.
Do you use it to show the prospective homeowners? Or is this more for your own business/personal collection?
