Scam no doubt. The grammar on line 3 of paragraph 1 is incorrect. I have seen so many example of scams in my current field of Information Security. That said, since they are referencing the FDIC, I would encourage you report this one to them. Their contact information is available at the bottom of the following page along with examples of other existing scams.

@Kyle McCorkel Thanks for the response and welcome. Yes, please feel free to send me the name and locations of the meetups.

I can agree about with being optimistic about Harrisburg specifically, it has almost these micro desirable areas to live in, from what I have noticed (e.g Midtown). Yes, 10 years may be a bit of a stretch unless someone like Amazon decided to setup an HQ in the area (not holding my breath...I think they would encounter a talent shortage IMO). The surroundings have seen personally seen change, especially the Mechaninicsburg / Carilise Pike area and to your point do seem solid.  However, it seems like the multi-family inventory is low..it could just be the time of year.

@Brian Adzadi Thanks for the response. I agree about using a reputable attorney to ensure the likelihood is low.

Hello BP. My father purchased two properties way before I was born in the Philadelphia area. That said,  he has rented the properties out for years. However, recently I performed a tax search on the property and I noticed my father had the deed under a nick name. That said, I have seeked out an attorney in the area to assist with the deed correction while also adding me a co-owner of both properties.  My question for you all is...should I be paranoid for any reason for an attorney to somehow take ownership/purchase of the property due to the nick name issue? Is this even a possibility? All loans and taxes on the property have been paid. Sorry I'm sure this sounds like a dumb question.

Christine and Brian, thanks for the welcome. Great question Christina. Honestly, I feel this is an area that will eventually become a highly desirable area to live in about 10 or so years. To be fair, I am basing this on a couple of items such my experience growing up my entire life in Philadelphia, PA. More specifically I have seen key sections of Philadelphia’s such Northern Liberties, Kesington , Spring Garden area, etc all go from non-desirable areas to highly desirable locations to live.

That said, based on Census data for the Harrisburg area, it appears that population has been steadily growing since 2010. That combined with the various towns establishing revitalization projects, rehab tax incentives, availability of land for home builders, and companies now establishing brick and motor facilities all lead me to believe this area will gain some additional attention as the years continue.

Christina & Brian, I’m currently targeting areas where the median income is at least 45K +. The below image gives you an idea of the areas that I am interested in. Currently looking to stay out of Highspire and Middletown. I’m partially interested Front St Area of Steelton even though the median income is not 45k +.

Hello BiggerPockets member, my name Jim. I have somewhat been in within the real estate arena for sometime. A little background, about myself  I grew up in the Philadelphia area where my family has owned and rented several  single family units. I have since moved from the area to Harrisburg, PA where I am targeting to build my portfolio. That said, I wanted to inform others that I am currently seeking a to purchase a two unit mutli-family in the Harrisburg PA area. Outside of real estate I work professionally within the Cyber Security realm and find fairly entertaining when dealing with malware or plain old email based scams :)
