Welcome @Peter Ricca

Do you need a GC or a certain trade?

My favorite place to find contractors  is to ask at the local supply house where the pros go. (Loeb Electric, Apco windows etc)

Hello @Patrick Ryan

There are several great agents here on BP. I’m assuming that if you are looking for value add that you are open to properties that may need some work ? Are you open to complete rehabs or looking for turnkey?

Columbus is still a very active market right now especially with multi family properties. Inventory continues to be at or near an all time low.  Most decent properties are usually sold within a day. Deals  are still out there  if you act fast!

@Sachin Amin This is the million dollar question. Any flakey contractor couldn’t survive the Great Recession and the ones left can now name their own price, and you are going to wait.

In the past if I need a contractor I’ll go to the supply houses around town  (not Home Depot or Lowes) and ask for a few referrals. Good luck!

Welcome to BP @Tyler L.

There’s a ton of great info and resources available here. Real estate market in a Columbus is still very hot with low inventory and high demand. Deals are still available but we’re seeing most are off market.

Make sure you check  out the meetups around town.

Cheers

Hey Felix,

What is your definition of a “good” neighborhood?

Cash flow, IRR, COC.. appreciation....etc

Are you looking for single family or multi family?

Long term rentals or rehabs?

Columbus market is extremely hot right now with multiple offers on listed properties. Everyone has different goals and risk tolerance. I recently sold a rental property to an investor that bought 44 houses in a neighborhood with the highest murder rate in Columbus.

Have you seen the duplex on Shepper yet?

Are you looking for a GC or subs?(electrician plumber etc)

Every GOOD contractor is extremely busy right now.
