Welcome from WA, @Pete Perez! Mr. @Brandon Turner himself has found success in this area, and has answered this before -- somewhere. Maybe he can give you some tips? Good luck in your move! "They" say you can make it work in any market area if you're willing to travel a bit out of the big cities. There are tons of great BP members around here, too, so I'd suggest getting to some local meet ups when you get here.  Best wishes!

Beautiful, @Tarl Yarber! And thanks for all the detailed info and advice for your BP pals.

@Robert Aiken I see this week's free webinar is a topic you might like!

I agree with @Joe Splitrock, as I tend to want a comfy cushion for unexpected expenses, no matter what I'm getting myself into.

Hi @Robert Aiken! Welcome to BP! I'm fairly new as well, so can't give you my personal wisdom, but wanted to welcome you and make sure you are aware of the free resources on the site. Have you looked at the education tab at the top of the page? I'd start with that education tab and use the "guides" section (especially the Ultimate Beginner's Guide) or start with the education tab and use the "free course" section if you prefer to digest info as videos.

If you're ready to spend money for books @Brandon Turner has written a book about investing with low or no money down, also under the education tab in the books & resources section.

Best wishes to you!

P.S. I grew up in Greensboro, NC :)

Hello, @Ryan Kemp! I believe you'll find a very warm welcome around here indeed for a general contractor who wants to work with investors! I haven't pulled the trigger on any investments yet, but would love to know more about any construction projects you have done already with investor money. I'm sure other investors would like to know more as well. Have you posted in the marketplace already?

See you around the forums and hopefully at a meetup one of these times!

Welcome, John Cohen , and congrats on your new license. And even more so on your interest in investing! :) Great advice here already, so I'll just add my friendly welcome from Bellevue. So many great people around here (the Evergreen State).
