Well, add me to the Newbie Welcome Wagon here, @Lisa R.! :) I am also just get started. I've heard lots of stories of people being successful with little to no money down early on. (Heard these stories on the many real estate podcasts I've been listening to, including Bigger Pockets, of course!)

I'm glad you're taking some steps to do something great for yourself. Don't give up and keep in touch with us all! :)

That DOES answer my question, @Account Closed. I didn't know if it was something less obvious than the fact that most people here are looking to do more of the legwork themselves in order to get a higher return. Personally, I would like to become that person, but I'm also very busy and don't necessarily want to wait for that growth (in my education, experience, confidence, etc.) before taking my first step. I will check out your company's services. Thanks!!

@Eli Winkelman I'm also new and want to congratulate you on taking an interest in real estate at your age. Compound interest is really going to be your friend! Best wishes in your journey, including that startup!

Inn new to real estate and a little late to the discussion here, but I'm wondering, Scott Hetherington who your target investor is? I am researching all possible ways of getting started in this business. :) Thanks!

I appreciate everyone's input here, as this is a concept @Ashley Abramson and I were discussing. I am looking for an alternative to turnkey investing for someone like me who has more money than know-how at this point. I have much more research to do, but would love to hear from anyone who has done deals like this before -- how does one decide how much each person's contribution is worth? I love @Cassie Sherie's idea of making sure it's win-win. I get that you can be as creative as you want, but how to even start crunching the numbers for a partnership? Maybe this is all covered in a book somewhere?

@Ryland Taniguchi I'm also checking out your profile and interested in what you have going on there! At this point I have some money to invest but no experience, other than buying my own home. Working on my education now, but trying to learn who's out there with some established processes I could plug into for mutual benefit. Maybe I can talk to you about what kinds of arrangements you make with investors? Just trying to get the "lay of the land" for what kinds of successful businesses are going on all around me here in the Seattle area!

@Davey Wilde I appreciate the public post, as I am trying to make some lists of BP folks in my area whose business aligns with my interests (currently thinking buy and hold for rentals, and would consider either single family or small multi-family to start).  Would love to chat with you more if you're willing to tell me more about what you do! Thanks!

Hi @Ashley Abramson! It's at Wilde Rover in Kirkland (111 Central Way) from 7-10 pm. If you join the meetup group online you can get info that way too: the group is called PacificNW Real Estate and @Troy Fisher is listed as the host! Hope you're going to come! It will be my first time.
