Hi @Seetha G, thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I do not know how to determine the ROI. (I would be house hacking, if this helps) I believe that investing would be beneficial however, I am ready to cut the debt. Not necessarily for buying power, more so for less liabilities.

Hi everyone!

I would like your feedback, please and thank you! Okay, so I am a "newbie" and I want to invest ASAP! However, I have a car note that I desperately want to save up and pay off by July 2017! If I do that, I will have $0.00 in my savings and will need to start all over. I am torn between that and totally scratching that idea, using the money for DP on a 2-4 plex. In the meantime, I plan on getting my RE license and working under a realtor PT. (I should also mention that I do have a FT job) I was really hoping to house hack by Dec 2017 but maybe I should push it back a little?? Thoughts? Suggestions? Please share your wisdom with me!

Thanks in advance!

Jasmine

Thanks @Joe Hughis ! I am looking for residential at the moment. Commercial is a "later" goal of mine but thank you for the recommendation.

Hello everyone!

I am a newbie with sickening student loan debt as well. This thread has definitely helped me! I would say it all depends on your goals and where you want to be. I am going to start with a house hack, especially being that I am in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program and have been for the last 4 years. I love my FT job and couldn't see myself leaving anytime soon, or leaving the field that is. (which also works for the loan forgiveness program) win-win. If you are passionate about something and it is within the public sector or nonprofit field, I would go for it. Get a FT job (for at least 10 years) and still do real estate.

Happy Investing! Thanks for sharing!
