Hi Mimi! I have to side with Miguel on this one. Keller Williams is usually the best for starting out and there is actually an office right on the borderline on Irvine and Newport Beach that you can be a part of. That’s actually the office I’m in and I live in chino hills so I’m a ways away. I can message you and answer any questions you have if you’d like?

I live in chino hills! Unfortunately can't help with a contractor since I'm a newbie investor and haven't Dealt with any yet. But what area of the city is it if you don't mind me asking?

Not sure what you're looking for in a partnership but I'm a young investor who's really interested in wholesaling. I'm still trying to learn the ropes and would love to help anyway possible.

I know this was several months ago but if I could be included in this coffee meeting that would be great! I'm a new investor who really just wants to learn more and talk real estate.

Hey Jacob! Welcome to the site! (and Happy Birthday,in 3 weeks!) There's a lot of great information here on BP. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend you search the forums for answers to any questions you have. Believe it or not, the search engine here is amazing.

I'm a newbie investor. I learned the hard (and expensive) way that you should recognize what you are passionate about, and figure out how you can use that passion to invest in Real Estate. For me, "execution" is a passion of mine. I'm an advertising project manager by day. But in Real Estate, I want to fix and flip houses. That is where I focus my education (podcasts, books, articles, etc). Everything else is important, but its secondary to what I'm passionate about.

All the best! Take care!

thank you! And yea I'm still trying to figure out exactly what my passion is and which avenue in real estate is going to take me where i want to go. I'm really looking forward to being more involved here on bigger pockets and learning from the veterans!

hi everyone in biggerpockets! I'm jacob repreza. I live in chino hills,CA and in 3 weeks will be 21 years old. I stumbled upon Biggerpockets when one day, I realized I didn't want the average 9to5 job that everyone has where my raises and ability to go on vacation and take days off are dependent on someone giving me approval so I looked and it seemed like the most plausible way of avoiding that and making a good living is going into Real estate investing. Now I've been reading and listening to the biggerpockets podcast for a couple months now and I'm struggling to get started because i have no idea where to start.

My goal is to have a residual income of about $200k a year if not more. From what I have read it seems like apartment complexes and commercial real estate is my best bet?  As of right now i was looking to start in wholesaling since it seems to be the only thing I can really do with no cash. Then buy a duplex or multifamily I can live in during/after college to build some equity and cashflow then some rental properties and work my equity and cash up to purchase larger apartment complexes that can bring in the cash flow i want. That's my very rough game plan. You guys know much more than I do so feel free to break that goal down on whether or not its possible and what avenues would be best.

So thats longer than most posts but i wanted to get most of it out there but i appreciate you reading it. This industry seems fascinating and I'm ready to start working hard to where I need to get.
