hi everyone in biggerpockets! I'm jacob repreza. I live in chino hills,CA and in 3 weeks will be 21 years old. I stumbled upon Biggerpockets when one day, I realized I didn't want the average 9to5 job that everyone has where my raises and ability to go on vacation and take days off are dependent on someone giving me approval so I looked and it seemed like the most plausible way of avoiding that and making a good living is going into Real estate investing. Now I've been reading and listening to the biggerpockets podcast for a couple months now and I'm struggling to get started because i have no idea where to start.
My goal is to have a residual income of about $200k a year if not more. From what I have read it seems like apartment complexes and commercial real estate is my best bet? As of right now i was looking to start in wholesaling since it seems to be the only thing I can really do with no cash. Then buy a duplex or multifamily I can live in during/after college to build some equity and cashflow then some rental properties and work my equity and cash up to purchase larger apartment complexes that can bring in the cash flow i want. That's my very rough game plan. You guys know much more than I do so feel free to break that goal down on whether or not its possible and what avenues would be best.
So thats longer than most posts but i wanted to get most of it out there but i appreciate you reading it. This industry seems fascinating and I'm ready to start working hard to where I need to get.
