Maybe we need to have a SoCal Newbie OOS meetup. I'm in the same boat looking for OOS investments as the local market doesn't cashflow enough for me. I'm looking to establish enough passive investments to retire as early as possible (preferably the next 3-5 years lol). Currently, I'm researching prospective markets more specifically ones with MFH to BRRRR. From reading this thread my next step will be to find a good PM in the markets I find.

Congrats on getting started and wish you success on your way to financial freedom.

+1 great idea! I would be very interested. Could even be hosted online so that a broad group could attend.

Thanks Greg, I will also give it a read. From what I can tell so far, the bottom line for OOS investing is still to network if long-term sole ownership is desired. I'm curious, does Greene cover methods of attracting the right people/talent to his circle?

This is an interesting conversation. I've just started looking at multi family deals in LA. I am also considering a duplex/tri/quad and house hacking, although I haven't done enough research to determine how viable that is. I'm super interested to hear what strategies folks are using in LA and what their experience is.
