@Stephen Dispensa

Boom. Make notes here people.

Stephen, I’m putting together a book of interviews of investors for my investor clients when I work with them and for investors in general. Would you be open to a interview over zoom?

Thank you Jaron!  Great question about the market for flippers.

Congrats!  You've taken the first step to get started, and that is huge.

Does your parents home need updating? Can you BRRRR it? Are you planning to sell in the future?

Theres so many ways to skin that cat.

Hi BP!

I work mostly with investor clients, and want to provide them with overwhelming value.  So I've decided to create a book featuring 20 interviews with successful investors, and will offer them both an e-book and audio recordings. This will be for both new investors and those who have been at it for a while. I'll be focusing mostly on flippers and those with rental portfolios, but might interview a few multi-family investors as well.

If you were to receive a book like this from your realtor, what questions would you like the interviewer to ask?  (I don't want to copy the BP podcasts directly, but might take inspiration on a few of their questions.)

Hi Evan,

I think our area is hard to get started in.  Unless you have the independent funds to get started with multi family, I think fix and flip is a great way to go.  Its what I'm doing to build up my capital, then i'm going to start into rentals and multi family.

There are plenty of deals on the MLS. Thing is, you have to negotiate to make some of them work.

Just waive it.  Your late fee is what, $29?  Is that really worth arguing damaging your relationship with your tenant over? Personally, I would do something other than 5pm, such as 9pm. If they are a working person and depend on their paychecks there is a good chance they don't get off till 5pm.  While yes, they should make other arrangements, why make it more difficult arbitrarily?

Hi David!  Give me a buzz and I can connect you with at least one wholesaler up here in the north.

I do find that most wholesalers tack on such a large up charge that it negates any deal to be found, but I know a few that are worth working with.

I'm also a flipper myself, so I'm constantly on the lookout for good deals no matter the source.

Hi Naomi!  I'm as an investor and an agent in Whatcom county I can tell you that there is opportunity everywhere!  It all depends on what you want to do and how you want to go about it. I know a few people who do Airbnbs in Glacier out by Mount Vernon.  Other people like to go off the beaten chart and along the Skagit river valley.

I think a large part depends on how you plan to source the rentals for your cottages.  I'd love to talk to you in detail about it though, and see what we can find for you.
