I'm also looking for any GCs in the area that may have experience with a 203k rehab. Please let me know if you find any contacts.

I would also like to be added for any deals in Monmouth county.

Thanks Dan, that's what I figured I should do.  Just wanted to hear from a local to confirm!

I currently live in Brick, new Jersey (Ocean county) and I've been house hacking for the last few years having had a roommate living with me in my extra bedroom paying me rent. Now I'm ready to move on and buy another property, my current roommate wants to continue renting the whole house from me.

My questions is, since he is the current resident and not a new tenant moving in do I still need to go through the CO process? I looked on my city's website for rentals and the first item on the check list for inspection is that the unit must be vacant. What issues can arrise if I do not have a CO?

Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome Guys! I'm new to Bigger Pockets in the last few months and also just getting started in REI. I grew up in monmouth county and currently live in Ocean county. I currently own a townhouse that will be my first rental next month and in the process of looking for for my next property. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions and look into SJREIA for some local meetings. I've been to a few and they are really great for networking, info and motivation!

Depends on the cost of the property you want. I would definitely make an offer asking the seller to cover all closing costs.

Thanks @Liz Faircloth I really appreciate all the referrals, and your YouTube page. I just watched the one video so far but getting info from a Jersey investor will be really helpful.

I already joined the Middlesex SJREIA and attended their first meeting last month so I'll defiantly be there this month too. Looking forward to networking with some new people!

Hey BP,

I'm starting to plan for my future real estate investments and need to assemble and structure my team and business plan. Before buying my first investment property in central Jersey I would like to get some references for knowledgeable lawyers and CPAs that have a strong REI background or are already working with other BP members. I am based out of the Monmouth county( 07728 ) and Ocean County ( 08757 ) areas. Any and all input will be much appreciated!
