@Jessica Brennan I have been in this situation..run the numbers as if he destroys it. Sounds like the daughter may understand this concern and would trade it accordingly. Ie plan the numbers for a total gut renovation. After closing discuss cash for keys with the brother or begin begin the eviction process in your area. Good luck Jessica. -Dave

They both have benefits but mainly cash sitting in the bank isn’t doin much. Depending on the deal id happily park a chunk into real estate and let the money work for me.
