@Justin Tippens Welcome to BP!

Start here: http://www.biggerpockets.com/real-estate-investing

and here: http://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2010/06/10...

Then listen to the podcasts.  There is a great amount of information in them.  Then read posts about wholesaling.  You've come to the right place to learn.

Good Luck!

@Christopher Lawrence Welcome to BP! You can start by reading this:

http://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/1/blog_posts/60...

I would also suggest searching the site for whatever area you are interested in and reading the posts that come up. Then you can request people who have participated in those posts to be a colleague and start networking that way. Also, the podcasts are a fantastic way to learn about REI.

Good Luck!

@Eric Weireter Welcome to BP!  You came to the right place to learn.  As a newbie myself I'd recommend diving into the podcasts and reading the how-to guides.  Tons of information to be gathered from those.

@Matthew Gallacher

Welcome to BP!  I'm a new investor myself, and by new I mean I haven't even bought my first place yet. One suggestion I would give you is in the search option type in the area you are looking for (Kansas, Salina, etc.).  Go through the posts that come up and look at the people who are involved with them and where they are from.  If you find people in your area invite them to be a colleague and include a brief message.  You'd be surprised as to how nice and helpful everyone is.

Good Luck!

Welcome to BP!  I'm new here as well and have learned a ton already.  I would suggest two things to help you get started.

1) Read this: http://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/1/blog_posts/60...

2) Listen to the podcasts.  There is a ton of information you can get from them.

Welcome again and good luck!

@Arthur Banks First off, congratulations!  Second, thanks for sharing your hardships.  I'm considering a 203k for my first deal and this is great information.
