Hey, Nicolas! Welcome to Bigger Pockets and Real Estate Investing. I am also new to the wonderful world of real estate investing.  I have been to a couple networking groups in the area. One is meeting this evening in Colleyville, DFW REI Network Investing Meetup. It is a BP group although they can't officially say that. Another group I like is DFW Investors. There are many, many more to be found on meetup in the DFW area. 

Be sure to read and study about real estate and learn as much as you can. That is how I spend the majority of my time right now. Listen to the podcasts. They have a wealth of information. Have you read the Ultimate Beginner's Guide? Everyone has shared that it is important to develop a good foundation before jumping in.

In response to @Rod Hanks', I can suggest Natt Dodson as an attorney in the area that was recommended to me. I am new and just setting up my team, and he was recommended as a real estate attorney that I could use by someone who has been in the industry for 30+ years.

Like I said, I have no experience with the attorney, but was recommended by someone I trust.

@Chris Soignier thanks for the info on wholesaling in Texas. I have business cards for 2 of them in the area and wondering if they are the two that you are talking about.

Having just beat cancer, that is a tough one. Glad you got your money. Hate to think their are people like @Blake Jarrett mentioned, but we have all seen them. It just makes it harder to know when to work with someone who has a legitimate problem. But that being said, you still need your money.

@Dan Shoemaker My husband and I are in Cross Roads (between Aubrey and Denton)  and just getting started. I have been looking for someone to partner with who could mentor us to get us started in the right direction.
