The other day I woke up, grabbed coffee and began reading Bigger Pockets and doing a little work. My boyfriend decided to work from home as well so I made us breakfast. It was a wonderful morning, no hustle and bustle and then I remembered that I did in fact have to drive to Delaware for work....dang.

I just want to be able to do exactly what I feel like doing when I retire. I am sure it will involve a lot of travel but when I want to sit on my tail and do nothing I don't want to feel guilty about it.

I'm not doing as well as I'd like. I keep a decent amount of cash and if I had any sense I'd hide it in the house. I'm concerned about cyber-terrorism. Other than that it's mostly stocks and mutual funds. I feel stupid just writing that.

Emily, wish I had something to add but I am not handy at all. I just wanted to root you on and say that's really kind of you to think of helping your Mom that way.

Call first and find out if he can even receive flowers because if he is in the ICU or something fresh flowers may be a no no. Speak with him on the phone or his family and offer some assistance even if you know he/they will refuse it.

I personally like sending gift baskets.

Hi Ray,

Just wanted to say thanks for sharing. I learned a lot just by reading that. It's too early now but I think later I want to take the marketing numbers and try to find the true numbers with the J Scott analysis and some of the other advice here.

Thanks

Hi Tershant,

I would suggest that you first find local real estate investments groups in your area with the objective of finding a mentor. Secondly, network in an efficient manner. Next, visualize what it is you want to accomplish in real estate, what you want from your mentor and what you can offer. I recently had to do this for myself and I found a gentleman who may mentor me after 2 meetings. He's busy, has plenty of knowledge and no time for non-sense which I appreciate. I hope it works out and I should know by next week but either way, I'm resilient.

This is only my opinion but you may have better luck finding a mentor through the local REI groups.

Lastly, stop with those corny, gimmicky thread titles...shenanigans. Haha

Good Luck!

Wow Rich, that's very inspiring. I like to think that I'm well traveled but I'm no where near you. Enjoy your next getaway, sounds like you worked hard enough for it.
