Hey Atlanta Investors

My name is Bolanle Ogunmakin and I have been investing for 9 years. I worked for a design build company and left my cushiony W2 job to co-found Quality Builders a GC-Tech (general contracting technology) company.

With that said, I am personally looking to ramp up my investing here in Atlanta and am looking for an investor friend agent and lender. Any referrals would be much appreciated, I know rockstars know rockstars.

Additionally, we will be starting to take on third party projects here in Atlanta so please feel free to reach out if I can help with any construction or renovation questions!

@Andrew Snyder This is sooo helpful! I especially love number 3. I just went through this and just like you stated, the lender did not fully understand what the underwriter is looking for and the deal ended up falling apart. Now I know better! Thanks for this.

@Layla Garrett Welcome to Biggerpockets! And congrats on planning for your first investment property. I'm in Atlanta but happy to connect about investments in general!

Have you been on the Real Estate Events & Meetups Forum here on BiggerPockets? Once you type in your location, you'll be able to see the meetups in your area which is always excellent for connecting with local investors.

@Jeremy Kinard That's a great goal!  I'd advise going to the local real-estate meetups. There's so much wealth of experience and information from seasoned investors at those meeting. Meetup.com should have a list of REI meetings in your area. You might also be able to find the local meetup groups here on the forums. All the best!

Hi @Tyler C.,

Impressed you're ready to get started so early! Nathan has provided a lot of information already. In addition, I'd advise going to the local real-estate meetups in your area. There's so much wealth of experience and information from seasoned investors at those meeting. Start networking at those meetings and offer your time to assist some investors if they need it so you can learn more hands on. Meetup.com should have a list of REI meetings in your area. You might also be able to find the local meetup groups here on the forums. All the best!

Hi @Christian Francois! You're already her on BP so that's a great start. There is a forum for "Starting Out" where you can get a lot of information and guidance. I'd say consume as much of the information here on BP as possible. The next step would be to attend local meetups, that's where you'd be able to meet and interact with others that are already doing this locally. There are several in the Atlanta area, go to meetup.com and search for them.
