If you are in the midwest, I assume there are other parts of the state that might be cheaper and still a drivable distance if needed or if you border another state that has a few cities with potential. I  would probably recommend starting with that. @Jason Shuda

Congrats on getting started! All are solid, Columbus will have the most growth but is more expensive. Cincinnati would be the middle route and Dayton is the cheapest. Just depends on your goals. The contractor will be the hardest part in the process.

Best of luck! @Jeremy Tanner

Congrats on the next taking the next step!

1) There are a handful of markets in Ohio and the Midwest in general that you can look into that might be a good starting point.

2) Doesn't hurt to visit the area and at least know the neighborhoods you are looking into

3) I recommend starting off with something more turnkey or no more than a cosmetic update

How hacking is the easiest way to get started. Buy a 2-4 unit and live in one for those 2 years @Drew Joseph

If you want he most amount of eyes, I would list it with an agent who does multifamily. I would make all the necessary updates and then fill it enough so that someone can still get some type of commercial financing. @Jim P.

It really just comes down to the team you build. If you currently have the capital and find a good deal while you are in Columbus, why not do it. Its fairly easy to network in the city to build that team @Mike Litano

Columbus is a solid option but if you are located closer to a market that is in your own backyard, its always easier to get started closer to home

There are a handful of markets in the midwest and a few cities in Ohio where that would work. Just depends on your goals for which city fits best @Ramon Vargas

A lot of it comes down to your team. I would start with your Realtor and lender then the PM and contractor are going to be the more difficult parts to find. Once you have everything in place then it is easier to scale from there @Todd Wood
