@Ray A. It looks like it's in the Barker Cypress area.  It's not a house I'm really interested in, it's just a sample house I was analyzing the expenses on.  The taxes are pretty high in the area but I love the area and my daughter just started a preschool there so I'm really trying to see if it could possibly work out.

Hey @Douglas Higa So basically when analyzing the numbers are you saying to base the taxes off of what you think you are going to purchase the property for?  I thought the taxes are based off of what the property is appraised for... I'm still pretty new to things so forgive me if I'm obviously wrong.

Hey @Elizabeth Colegrove Thank you very much for your response & Yes mam, that makes tremendous sense.  Zillow is now my well connected friend :)

Good Evening @Leigh Ann Smith thank you so much for your response.  Is HAR.com the source you turn to for accurate numbers usually when analyzing deals?  Or do you break it down and investigate each taxing entity?

Also, thank you for your insight on the appraisal and asking price.  That makes so much sense.  I have learned so much about property taxes within the last few hours.  I really thought it was just a simple search on the HCAD site and that was it.  Thanks again.

p.s. : 1 Timothy 6:17-19 is an amazing scripture that speaks volumes.

Hey @John Truong

thank you for your response... Yes, now that I went to HCAD.com I see that I missed those two.  So is hcad where you get a true list of all the taxes associated with a property?

Thank you @Michael Le

When you say MUD/WCID... what are you referring to?

Hello @Elizabeth Colegrove

So when calculating your numbers you sometimes trust Zillow's tax numbers?
