Hey @Ben Rishwain , the easiest route will be the tenant reaching out to their bank(s) to dispute this. Unfortunatly it's very rare that anything actually happens to the fraudster besides losing their bank account. Highly suggest electronic payments, less headaches!

I am a little confused why a lot of people are responding with "don't answer"?  If I get a call from my tenant I know it's in regards to MY PROPERTY. Of course boundaries should be set and understood that any issues effecting my property directly, I want to be informed immediately! I would rather be woken up for a false alarm then not informed and find out after the fact. In short, I WOULD ANSWER THE PHONE.

2. Set larger goals

3. Network with other real estate investors quicker

To build generational wealth! Knowing the fact that REI can help family and friends is just an additional benefit. It's also one thing that you can research/study everyday and still learn new things. My end goal just like everyone else on here is to obtain financial freedom.

Yes! Sorry for being late to the conversation! Great place to look for long term investing. I've been seeing alot of city initiatives to build up river side and the river front. Alot of potential down!

Has anybody else dealt with this? I'm currently in the process of closing on my 3rd property and the appraisal has came back at the selling price. I find this interesting because, this has happened with every property I've closed on when in fact the estimate seems off. Buying this property for 85k and comps are floating between 110k-120k. I've heard in the past it's just to justify the mortgage being approved but was just looking for some feedback or personal experiences!

This is the exact purpose of a lease. They knowingly signed the lease, I would hold them accountable. They really should have no arguement on this one, if it was such an issue to begin with why did they not bring it up before hand?

I'm not sure what your current living situation looks like but alot of people get into real estate investing by house hacking. Lower % down for a primary residence! Try to live for free while putting $$$ aside for the next deal! Best of luck!

I personally use Zelle. As long as you bank with one of the big banks (BOA, Chase, Cap One, Wells Fargo, etc) funds come through immediately! Also, it makes the transaction easier and more convenient for the tenant as well.. checks are becoming a thing of the past @Will Triplett
