I am thinking about refinancing my personal home to free up some cash. I currently have a VA loan. Anyone have any leads on what banks are offering the best rates? I wanna shop around a bit this time since i am in a position, credit wise, to actually have options. So far, ive contacted my current lender and New American Funding. depending on what i find, i might do a cash out refi to help fund my 1st rental property.

So realistically then, my 10k is more like 5k (if that) in order to close something? i bought my house last year. but i didnt pay too much attention to the numbers. its what the wife wanted. happy wife and all that.

I have been kicking around the idea of rental properties for about a year and some change now. I had a couple goals i wanted to meet before diving in though. well, goals met. i currently have about 10k saved up and mid to upper 700's credit score. realistically, is this a good place to start or should i grind the paycheck a little harder and save a little more?

Hello everyone,

I think I am finally in a position to purchase my first rental property. I spend most of the year out of the country and am looking for an avenue to give up this job so I can spend more time home. I have never owned a rental property and am looking for someone with more experience that help me navigate my first deal or two. I am currently out of the country, but due back late July. If you have the spare time and can lend me some of your knowledge feel free to comment below or shoot me a DM. Thank you.

I am new to the idea of real estate investment. Until now, I havent had the revenue to be able to pull it off. I am planning on buying my first house this summer coming up. I want to start investing in rental properties in my area as soon as feasibly possible. Should I jump on the first deal i see or should i wait until i acquire my own house first.

I am going to have to be pretty hands off for the most part. I work in south west asia for 3 or so months at a time. I am only home for approx 90 days a year. On my next trip home i and going to be doing some networking and start putting together a team of people to help me on my endeavor. Any ideas or tips on who i need to source for my team?

My current job is only a 5-6 year plan. So im looking for something to fall back on when ive reached my goals here.

Thanks guys. Im still in the process of coming up with a plan. I will be doing some networking the next time im stateside and hopefully gaining some folks to put on my "team". I already have someone in mind for a realtor who may be interested in managing my properties. I just need to get hooked up with some contractors who can help me out with renovations. Is there another entity i should seek out? I was thinking about maybe some wholesalers too, but im still learning what all they can provide.

My name is Anthony Friday, but I go by Tony. The only experience I have in real estate is renting for the past 14 years. I was in the military and moved around a lot so I could not rationalize buying a house that I would be moving out of in a few years. I am originally from Portsmouth Virginia but me and my family fell in love with the scenery of north east TN so we moved there after I separated from the service. I currently work overseas as an explosive detection canine handler.

What brought me to bigger pockets was the brrrr method of real estate investment. Of all the real estate investment strategies that I have researched this method was the only one that made sense to me. My goals are to employ this method to help me catch up financially with where I think i should be in this stage of life and be able to set some money aside for the kids' education. I am still a few months out from having the capitol needed to make my first move so I am here to educate myself in what needs to be done so when I am ready to take the dive I don't belly flop.
