Jaquetta,

I am happy to announce that my wife and I have decided to become a 1 car family (for now) that will save us $256 car payment $270 parking (downtown Chicago is crazy) $125 in car insurance and $120 in gas so $771.

A train pass is going to cost me $100/month. Thanks to all of your encouragement in this thread we are already cutting $671 from expenses that will be put directly into debt repayment.

I had two years of lease to go so the savings are tremendous.Thank you Bigger Pockets. The Buy out of the lease will be less than 2 months worth of savings.

@frankchin thank you for sharing your story and congrats on 38 years of marriage. I hope that my wife and I can be as "lucky" as both of you are. In the mean time we intend to follow the path that everybody is laying out for us here.

Troy,

First thing today I will recheck my expenses and math. I hope you are right. What I will probably end up doing is posting my expenses in the thread for the community to help me cut them down. Everyone has been amazing

Joel,

Our careers are good but not a long term option to get us to financial freedom. The goal is eventually to create enough passive income from real estate and investments to reach the promised Land

Yaroslav,

Thank you but a new credit card is not an option that I'm willing to consider.

Viktor,

I agree no loan on the house.

James,

Thank you for your kind words and if you are willing to teach me something I will happily listen (thus goes for every person in this threads)

Steve,

I am PO'd and I'm going to follow your lead my friend

Thomas,

My wife is on board with everything but leaving this house. I do not believe that she will derail the plan since her natural tendency is to save not spend. Our debt is because we were "keeping up with the Joneses" and counting on the cards to make our months. We have decided that the Joneses are a bad influence and need to stay away from them.

James,

This experience has humbled me when I see I see the destructive path that I was on. Now we are talking to our kids about assets and liabilities and positive cash flow. It has made for some really good dinner table talks. I am grateful that we aren't going to pass the "bad financial Gene" to our kids.

Anish,

I agree with you 100%, the debt is my main goal right now. At the same time I am going to choose to see the debt repayment as my tuition for learning how to achieve financial freedom. I have nautral love of learning and am a quick study. I will spend the next two years and the rest of my life learning how to get there.

Avi,

I am looking into wholesaling and am trying to educate myself. I'm sure with the right plan, work ethic and a good mentor I could get involved in it. Do you wholesale?
