@Tomiko Graves I have a C Corp, S Corp and 4 LLCs. C and S Corp are active businesses so don't start one till you have an active business. I agree with @Natalie Kolodij. Go with LLC and you can file it as S Corp at end of the year if things have changed.

@Julie Kern great job. Let’s connect as I am in SF Bay Area but invest in Atlanta.

@Jess White I have SFRs, MF, invested with syndicators in MF, self storage and MHP deals plus bought some notes and a small parcel of coffee farm in Panama. I also have invested 401K funds in some stocks as well as crypto-currencies.

I know I still need diversify even more.

Absolutely. I am in SF Bay Area and I refuse to invest in California because of the speculation and CA not being a tenant friendly state. Feel free to PM me and we can discuss via phone or email.

@Nova Mendoza I live in SF Bay Area and invest OOS. Don’t look at properties with price less than $75-80K and with rent less than $750/month. You would mostly find a dump or someone will sell you a property in a D or lower neighborhoods.

Reach out to me if you want to discuss further.

@Robert Shedden totally agree with @Richard Sherman and @as@Ashish Acharya. If you are not actively running a business, S-Corp is not going to do you any good. I am not a CPA or attorney but I own a c-Corp, a s-Corp and multiple LLCs.
