Hello to all I’m Vanessa Morris 29, out of central FL I’ve spent the last 8 years in the trucking industry and I’ve finall found my passion in real estate only issue is I’m so lost on exactly which direction to start I for sure know I want to buy and hold properties yet I’ve never owned a home never even applied for a home loan I’ve read several books and watched dozens of YouTube videos I’m at the point where it’s now or never how do I get the courage to just go for it and what should be my first step???
Hi Vanessa, check out JWB in jacksonville, if you are looking for turn key
Hey @Vanessa Morris and welcome to Bigger Pockets! BP is the ultimate learning center for real estate investment. At BP, not only can you network with other real estate investors, you can learn from the informative forums posted daily on the site, find properties that are for sale, and take free courses. You have come the right place and I wish you best of luck.
Hi, Vanessa! Since you're from "Central FL", I presume you live in-or-near Orlando. As a 'newbie' landlord (& rental investor), you cannot go wrong joining your -local- Real Estate Investors' Assn first, and then becoming a 'frequent visitor' to Bigger Pockets. If do-able, an annual "PRO" membership at BgrPkts is THE route to take. Rotsa ruck!!

Welcome to the site Vanessa.
1st step is to get pre approved for a mortgage. From there you'll want to start looking at properties to buy. Getting into a rental property is no big deal, just don't bite off more than you can chew.
Thanks so much for all the feed back I’ll definitely continue to post updates here
@Vanessa Morris congrats on finding your passion! I like to first share a quote from one of my favorite Jet Li movies... "No risk, no rewards". I don't need to explain what the quote means!
It won't be an easy journey, but you've put enough time into studying how real estate investments work! You just have to trust yourself (and have a little bit of luck) and jump dive in. And if things go wrong, then you have thousands of colleagues here that could give you advice based on their past experience! You'll do great! Good luck and keep us posted!

Hello! @Vanessa Morris
Welcome to BP, and congratulations on making the decision to invest in your future via real estate.
I have written a few blog posts that may help you get started here on BP, and with your investing. Please click on the links, give them a read, and share your thoughts in the comments.
First is a post that I feel will help not get overwhelmed with the amount of info that is here on BP:
https://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/5868/52761-the-simple-guide-to-getting-started-on-bp
The second is a post that will help get you focused with your real estate investing goals:
https://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/5868/52743-im-new-to-bp-any-advice-would-be-appriciated
The last one is a post that will help you choose an “investor friendly” real estate agent.
There are many agents out there, but it’s important to choose the right one.
I love answering questions if you have any! Good Luck :)
Welcome @Vanessa Morris! Why do you want to get involved with REI? And money can't be the answer. Money will most certainly be a by product but it can't be your WHY. Defining your WHY, getting really deep into why you want to get involved is your first step. Doing so, will allow you to establish goals and set investing criteria that'll make you extremely efficient. So, first step is defining your WHY. What's YOUR why?
@Vanessa Morris One of the first steps to overcoming your fear is to clearly identify your goals and criteria. Without that, it's impossible to evaluate an opportunity and move forward. Uncertainty is the greatest source of fear.
