Investing in Milwaukee, WI
Hello all
I'm a US Marine leaving active duty after 13 years. My wife and I own our home in Indiana, and I'm looking to invest in rental properties in Milwaukee, WI. I am a Wisconsin native and a Marquette University grad. I'm excited about jumping into a new business, and also improving a city that I love! This is a side business / investment for me.
I would appreciate recommendations / referrals for home inspectors and contractors. I'm predominately looking at the Riverwest and Walker's Point neighborhoods.
I'm a new investor, and I've been impressed by the wealth of information on the site.
Thanks in advance!
Andrew

It looks like a good rental market. Just learn the market well because of course each city has their areas that aren't as good as other areas. Good luck.

Hello Andrew. You came to the right place! I'm a buy/fix and hold investor in the Bay in CA. But you'll find a variety of all strategies here on the website. A few tips on the website and on meeting some fellow investors:
Search for local meetups here or google a local REI club to network with other investors. On the site, the "Learn" link across the top navigation bar has lots of great info, and so do the forums. You can tag people by typing @ before you type their name, then clicking their name when it pops up at the bottom of the message box. You can click on the 'vote' button if you like someone's post or is helpful, and there are 'awards' to earn on your profile. Good luck on everything!
First and foremost, thank you for your service to securing our country. Welcome to BP and welcome home. There is invaluable information on this forum. Be careful, its addicting.
There is a local Meetup of BP members the last Saturday of each month, so watch the forum for details.
Welcome @Andrew Tyson
