Property Tax Appeal Companies - Houston TX
I don't know about any one else - but my property taxes have increased significantly this year (50% on one of the property alone). This was totally unexpected and way out of the norm (I've had my properties for years now and these jumps were drastic!).
Does anyone in the Houston area have any property tax appeal companies they could recommend? I know I can do it myself, but I'd like to see what the cost is versus my time value.
Thanks!
I have used https://www.poconnor.com/ for years. They do a good job.

i use https://saveonhousetaxes.com/
i tried doing it myself before and wasn't worth the time or effort and was actually pretty frustrating
I do get savings using them, couldn't tell you if its better or worse compared to other companies.

@Kyle Mccaw What % do po connor charge as fees? That information is very hidden on their website!

They charge 50% of what they save you. That's kinda the standard in that industry.

Thanks @Kyle Mccaw! I'm probably going to try ownwell this year, they charge 25%.
@Masha Rizzi I have been using Holly Graves from Paula Mclean and been very happy with the results. If you tell her you are a PM and give her multiple properties to protest she might cut you a deal. For me she charges me 35%.

You think it's easy because you received what you wanted, maybe you could have gotten more. The part that gets difficult is when you don't get the value you were looking for and have to go to the in person process.

If you can already tell by what I've written. I've done it myself, so I know the process personally. I have MULTIPLE properties also.....so maybe you can caveat, its easy to do ONE property, but when you have MULTIPLE properties, you do have to spend some time putting together the information. Ultimately, its up to you to change their mind on why the value should be less than their own valuation. Hope you can understand why it may be difficult when you're doing it on your own.
On top of that, you're in "Comal and Guadalupe," come back to me when you're in Harris County, Fort Bend County, Montgomery - since the question was asked about HOUSTON. Don't need your unrelated 2 cents.

@Masha Rizzi I use Home Tax Shield and they have done a fantastic job. We saved over $300,000 in appraised value over 5 properties last year, saving us more than $6800 in tax. The charge is $15/property + 30% of savings. More affordable than most and have a high success rate.
