Best real estate educational course

Hey BP community!!

My name is Forrest, I'm a newbie investor from Boulder Colorado. I was wondering, in your opinion what is the best course/ licensing/ educational platform for a newbie investor. My plan is to fix and flip, BRRR, buy and hold, land and real estate developing.

I’m not really interested in becoming an agent but would love to have more insight on the market and the knowledge of an agent.

Any courses or classes that you highly recommend would be much appreciated!

Thanks, Forrest

You can pay for a course, which I've seen people do to the tune of $50k or more. OR, you can read this site. Depending on your bankroll, it's easiest to start with a live in flip and go from there. You don't need a license, nor should you get one, until you are doing multiple deals a year.

Hey Forrest,

I am a broker for distressed properties in the Denver area, also from Boulder and starting to invest myself.

Besides BP, I like Donny Coram’s Podcast ‘Foreclosure Deals Coach’! Has a ton of info, episode 33 talks about what renovations yield return and which ones don’t. Worth the 30 minutes or so if your about to Flip a house.

Plenty of good podcasts out there, but haven’t taken a class personally, so I can’t recommend anything in that area.

Best of luck!

@Spencer Rafii @Matt M. Thank you both, I feel like podcast, books, networking, real estate meetups and such are all great ways to learn.

I think I’d like so do some courses or classes As well.

And let’s just be clear Bigger pockets and the community here is so awesome. I’ve learned so much just by listening to that podcast! I love it!

Thanks again

"I was wondering, in your opinion what is the best course/ licensing/ educational platform for a newbie investor"

1) Find someone successful at doing it

2) Meet with them, ask questions and LISTEN.

Most courses make money for the teacher, not so much for students.

3) Go out and do a low-risk (ie don't put every penny you have in it) deal.

@Forrest Shaw I would suggest looking at CCIM. It is a focused course on crushing numbers for agents, however as an investor you would also benefit from it.

www.ccim.com

Enjoy !

@Forrest Shaw Wanted to check in and see if you got a deal this summer and what were some of the places you ended up getting good info from.
