Funny Short Sale Stories

Okay, after I received a call and spoke with a property owner, I needed to tell about the story. I also am asking that others tell their funny stories.

Here goes.....

I received a call from a property owner about a letter that they had received from our company about buying the property. So, I went through the routine. Is the property listed with a Realtor? No, well not really, kind of, well half of the property is. So, you are saying that half of the property is listed, I have never heard of this. Well I split the property into two pieces and I am letting a Realtor list the front half, but I have not yet listed the second half. Could you explain how this is? Oh, did you split the property into two(2) parcels? Are both parcels on the same mortgage? Is the Lender(s) aware of all of this. (I am really skeptical at this point, but I will continue.) I just put up a fence and now I have two(2) lots. Why would I tell the Lender about a fence? Oh, so you never filed any paperwork with the county? I have to tell the county I put up a fence? No, never mind. Well, we do not purchase properties that are listed with Realtors, so I am sorry for wasting your time. But I want to sell the house. Since the Realtor only has the front part, you can buy the other. Well we will have to see so tell me about what has brought you into the foreclosure process. Well we are not, we are working on a Loan Mod, but we were told to list it for sale. Who told you to list the property? So, if you are doing a Loan Mod, why are you selling the property? Do you want to keep the property? Well, we were told by the bank that we needed to list the property to be able to get a Loan Mod. Also, my attorney told me to sell the property while I do the Loan Mod. You mean, not only did the Lender tell you to try to sell a property that you want to keep. But your attorney told you to sell the property even though you want to keep it? WOW! Well, not really! We heard from an attorney that this is what we should do. So, the attorney is not your attorney? Where did you hear this? A "special" "private" attorney told me this. They also said to not tell anyone else, and to not give out their name. You mean, an attorney gave you advice and then told you not to talk about the info and to not give out their name? Yeah, he is a "private" attorney. He only deals with the private people. Not the rich, but the private. Okay, so you do not want to sell the property, you want to do a Loan Mod and keep the property? Yeah that is why I called you. You can buy the house and get it back to us at a deal. Right? No sir, we buy propertes and resell them. But we can not resell this house back to you. Sorry. Have a great day.

And that was my call. Hope you all enjoy!

Lovely!

How come I'm not surprised the Realtor doesn't realize he/she cannot sell the front part of a single parcel?

I wonder if IQ test should be part of any loan application from now on. Forget about DTI ratio. Just an IQ test.... Please.

Here is what is really funny/scary. When we tell a property owner the paperwork that is required for a short sales. I will sometimes say, you know the same documents that you showed to get the mortgage. And then sometimes the reply, "we didn't show any documents to get the mortgage."

James, you need to learn how to do your job much better, you really screwed this one up!

Your advice should have been to have this person (man or woman) get fixed so they can no longer produce offspring!
What an idiot! Of course I need to consult with my "private" attorney on this.

ATTANTION all RE Investors!!! Don't listen to Will of Nationwidepi!! He is a charlatan!!! I will teach you a better way. In a matter of fact, I will teach you the only way. For only $4,994 (Cheaper than Will's) You will learn how to grid your property, and sell each square by the pound... I will show how to dig the dirt and sell it by the weight of the grains.... !!! Everything is legal... Sort of.... not sure... Anyway, come on down!!!!
