Good Afternoon,

Things are progressing nicely on bringing Whalen and Morris to justice.

We have hear from a couple of hundred Indianapolis victims but I know they are running the scam in Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida. If you have properties there we would love to talk to you.

Thank you

They already started a new property management company and are signing leases! I have a copy from their new company and they took from from tenants where they had no pm agreement signed and didn’t fix the house as promised (hundreds of examples of this) Plus have tons of fake leases and other bs we’ve dealt with over the years we’d happy to share. Let’s talk off line.

I’m local. You can come into the office this week if you want. We are in Garfield Park.

Aleks, what's the status of legal action against these crooks?  I am putting together a CA lawsuit now.  I lost about 20k on my "investment." It was all a scam, a fraud, perpetuated by Oceanpointe and Clayton Morris.

They are under investigation by multiple Federal and Local Agencies.  These take a while to see people charged and standing before a judge.

For investors that have houses in Indianapolis they are looking at walking away from I would beg of you to contact Renew Indianapolis (City of Indianapolis Land Bank) and see if they will accept it as a donation (you get the tax writeoff) and be able to turn it quicker instead of it going back to the tax lien or surplus sale and Oceanpointe getting to buy it again.

Update:  Oceanpointe has re-invented itself as Freeportinvest.com.  Operating out of the same two markets:  Jacksonville and Indianapolis.  Their website uses an Illinois phone number.  Go figure.

Jeff, aren't they also in Detroit or is that just Morris Invest (aka: the Morrises) that are operating there?  Via the business search, it looks like Freeport established in Indiana in April of this year.  Sandra Whalen is the registered agent.

@Larry Fried From what I understand, Clayton Morris has tried to divorce himself from Oceanpointe, and is using another local 3rd party to sell in Detroit.  Oceanpointe is/was owned by Bert Whalen, hence the registered agent name for the newer entity.

@Aleks Gifford I’m interested in learning more about legal recourse against Morris and Whalen. I’m looking for an attorney to sue them over a property in Florida. Thanks, Sean

They are in 5 cities using about a dozen legal entities. If you want to help call the Indianapolis Field Office for the FBI and talk to Special Agent C. Barfield.

this is big enough the FBI might actually take a swing at it.. and Ole Morris is hanging out there like a big Matzah ball.   He has little to no defense and a ton of evidence supporting those suing him.
