Some background on me - I went to college with a degree I thought I was gonna use, thought I wanted to apply to PT school, but soon after I graduated I had a massive change of heart and decided that I no longer wanted to pursue that route anymore because I felt my future was so much brighter than to be stuck working day and night in that kind of profession.

I told them I would bring them extra flashlights, batteries and water but they should get themselves perishables.  

You may also want to bring a flashlight to better assess darker areas, especially if utilities are off.

A good cleaning will make it pop brighter and couldn't hurt. 

You'll also need storage space for cleaning supplies, change of linens and towels and small miscellaneous items like a first aid kit, extra batteries, flashlights, broom, vacuum, etc.

I get home back to MA/CT once every few years, was there last year, nice to visit, but I've had my share of cold weather, and prefer brighter days. 

Very similar to Cincinnati, but I think has a brighter future, lower taxes, etc
