Hello Everyone,I own a short-term rental (STR) in East Downtown Houston and currently live in Austin, TX.

During the entirety of 2021, I hosted monthly meetups in Fairview Heights, IL (just outsde of Belleville) that brought in real estate investors from the metro east.

No one is screaming about housing shortages in East St.

While I agree a lot of $ flows thru US, its still the everyday middle class person that drives the economy.I read two interesting datapoints today:1.

Think across the river or highway from the East End, or south/north of downtown in neighborhoods that have easy access to the city and walkable downtown areas.

But occasionally we have issues and tenants need to be asked to leave or just decide to disappear in the middle of winter and it sucks.The worst part is I find the quality of tenant interested or willing to move this time of year isn't the greatest either - often times there is a reason they have to move right now since most landlords don't like ending leases this time of year.Either lower your rent or just hang in there.
