I want to start building connections with some quality institutions because my cash will only take me so far.

An extra $400 a month is nothing to scoff at.Also with a multi, if one of your tenants move out, you've only lost half of your income, as opposed to all of it.That being said, a SFH seems like it would potentially attract a little higher quality tenants.  

With that being said, does anyone have any great recommendations for a quality home inspector as well as an appraiser? 

I'd prefer to rent quality housing to quality tenants who enjoy and take care of their homes.

So investing in a quality camera/ or professional photographer is a great investment.Also did you paint the siding or is it new?

In terms of buying, the quality of the neighborhood varies quite a bit from one block to the next.

Depends on the quality sometimes cheap materials are used and can have foundation settling issues, also difficult to find the builder for warranty fixes.
