I have wanted to invest in real estate when since I was in college for civil engineering but took some time to persuade my wife to be on board with it all.

I set a minimum goal for my students of one hundred thousand in gross income, Business expenses of 20 to 30,000, and keeping their current job My focus is not buy-and-hold right away but in transaction engineering and using not traditional financing but creative financing.The critical skill in my business is negotiating with the seller.

I am a project manager for an engineering firm in Wichita, KS and am getting started in the buy and hold real estate business.

When folks try to headhunt me, I ask for two things... 1) rate sheets or access to their pricing engine and 2) to speak to an underwriter of their choosing.

I'm a engineer and work a 40 hour a week, 8 am to 5 am job.

I'm a lifelong engineer, married to an MD (sugar mama) and for family reasons we wanted to have one of us in a career with a bit more day-to-day flexibility as our young child (and hopefully more on the way) grow up.  

I am also engineering more transactions for others now rather than buying myself 90% of the time.  

Dont get me wrong, hunger/ambition go a long way, and RE isn't civil engineering a land bridge.  

By day I'm a mechanical engineer, but my real passion lies in real estate.
