Keep in mind that the areas you're looking at are not tropical and have seasonal weather.I've seen houseboats in The Keys as successful rentals.I hope you can make a profit but I think it'll be tough.Good luck

The areas south and also east of the Intel campus offer great areas with low crime, good schools, shopping, restaurants and newer homes.The newer homes will reduce your need to do major improvements for years on many of the properties.As a Broker and a Property Manager, we see many doing just what you are requesting and having long-term success.

My recommendation, try to figure out how to finance a property from the auction, AND line up a financing option in case you come across something from the MLS or FISBO.More options and hopefully that will translate to more chances of success.
