Corporations in this country are being penalized for the government's wasteful spending, both on defense (as John pointed out), as well as on social programs, education and lots of other areas riddled with bureaucracy.While I'm a big believer in all these things (defense, social programs and education), we're throwing too much money into these areas and getting way too little in return.
