While I haven't been pre-approved yet, I'm actively exploring different loan options and aiming for a DSCR loan with 20-25% down and sufficient reserves, as you mentioned.

I agree with Henry that if they are already used to you being on the property, I doubt they mind you staying in a camper on the property.

Other thoughts going through my mind are how I could just use that renovation money and put it into stocks instead, or buy multiple smaller properties in a cheaper area instead of this one expensive place.
